Pre-requisite

There are no prerequisites other than a sincere desire to learn classical yoga.

Arrival and Departure

Arrival: The course will begin at 7pm on Friday
Departure: The course will end at 6pm on Monday

We encourage you to arrive by 4pm on Friday, making the most out of the afternoon by joining us for the Asana class and dinner. You are always welcome and encouraged to extend your stay to any length before or after the course. Please indicate your desired arrival and departure dates on your registration form.

What to Bring

Slip on shoes, loose comfortable clothing, writing materials, meditation shawl or blanket, yoga mat, flashlight, swim suit.

Swami Ramananda

Swami Ramananda served as the president of the Integral Yoga Institute in New York City for more than a decade and is a greatly respected senior teacher in the Integral Yoga tradition. He has been practicing Yoga for over 30 years. Through his affinity for and devoted study of the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, Ramananda offers practical methods for integrating the teachings of Yoga into daily life and coping with stress, depression, and anger. He leads advanced-level Yoga teacher training programs in New York City and a variety of workshops in many locations around the country. He is a founding board member of the Yoga Alliance, a national registry that supports and promotes Yoga teachers as professionals, and he is currently the president of the San Francisco Integral Yoga Institute.

Peter Russell

Peter Russell is a fellow of the Institute of Noetic Sciences, of The World Business Academy and of The Findhorn Foundation, and an Honorary Member of The Club of Budapest.  At Cambridge University (UK), he studied mathematics and theoretical physics. Then, as he became increasingly fascinated by the mysteries of the human mind he changed to experimental psychology. Pursuing this interest, he traveled to India to study meditation and eastern philosophy, and on his return took up the first research post ever offered in Britain on the psychology of meditation.

In 1982 he coined the term "global brain" with his 1980s bestseller of the same name in which he predicted the Internet and the impact it would have. His other books in include -- The TM Technique, The Upanishads, The Brain Book, The Creative Manager, The Consciousness Revolution, Waking Up in Time, and From Science to God. His work seeks to distill the essence of the world's spiritual traditions and present it in ways relevant to the current times.

Fred Luskin, Dr.

Dr. Luskin holds a Ph.D. in Counseling and Health Psychology from Stanford University. He is Co-Director of the Stanford-Northern Ireland HOPE Project, an ongoing series of workshops and research projects that investigate the effectiveness of his forgiveness methods on the victims of political violence. He served as Director of the Stanford Forgiveness Project, the largest research project to date on the training and measurement of a forgiveness intervention. He currently works as a Senior Fellow at the Stanford Center on Conflict and Negotiation.

Olga Mandodari

Olga Mandodari Sokolova, is a certified Vaastu Shastra Consultant. She studied at the International Institute of Mayonic Science & Technology in Chennai, India under Dr. V. Sthapati Ganapati, a world renowned traditional architect of Southern India who relies on Vaastu principles in his projects. Ms. Sokolova earned her MS degree in Civil Engineering from the Architectural University of St. Petersburg, Russia and Associate of Arts and Associates of Applied Science in Interior Design from the Montgomery College, Rockville MD, USA and received Ph.D. from The Open International University for Complementary Medicines, Colombo, Sri Lanka affiliated with The International Institute of Integral Human Sciences, Montreal, Canada.

Swami Jnaneswariananda

Swami Jnaneswariananda joined the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centers in 1995 and has been director of centers and ashrams in Canada and Italy. She teaches Hatha Yoga, Meditation, Anatomy, and Vedanta at Teacher's Training Courses in North America, Italy and India. Swami Jnaneswariananda took vows of Sannyas in 2001.  She is currently a senior teacher at the Yoga Farm in Grass Valley.  She teaches with great enthusiasm and humor.


Ben Kunin

Sarod player Ben Kunin learned his instrument and the tradition of North Indian classical music over more than 25 years of study under the legendary Maestro Ali Akbar Khan at the Ali Akbar College of Music in San Rafael, CA. He also learned tabla from Pandit Swapan Chaudhuri for many years. In 2006 he began training with Pandit Chitresh Das and the Chandam School of Kathak Dance. He performs frequently as a soloist and as well as accompanist.
