Yoga Health Education Weekend – How Yoga can get you out of depression and mood swings?

with Shani Robins, Ph.D., Swami Dharmananda and Swami Hamsananda

February 22 - 24, 2019

Description

“Do you have these symptoms of depression? problems sleeping, loss of weight or gain of weight, disinterest in your body hygiene and care, disinterested in hobbies or pleasures you were interested in before, problems in concentration and accountability, difficulty to do work or daily tasks, frequent mood swings , increased feeling of isolation and loneliness, difficulty in communications, indulgence in bad habits you have let go of before like cigarettes smoking, drinking, feeling worthlessness and even having suicidal thoughts?

Ask yourself:

How long ago did these symptoms occurred in your life?
Do you want to continue to drag yourself like this?
Realize you need help : Do you feel you can not shake them off whatever you have tried? May be your way going about it is missing something. You need help.  This week end Yoga retreat is for you.

Yoga Health Series

The Yoga Health Education series at the Yoga Farm is focusing on health issues you can help yourself with by a change of attitude and lifestyle using the time tested techniques of classical Yoga, which includes meditation, pranayama, asanas , mantras, kirtan , self enquiry and being in Nature and positive company. You deserve to live the life you love to the fullest. You are very important to yourself.

Understanding Depression

We invite you to come to understand the five facets and layers  and manifestation of depression. You will  meet and have workshops with psychologist and Yoga  teacher who will give you physical and mental health tips to go to the root cause of depression. You will  come out of these 2 days spent at the Yoga Farm equipped with tools to manage your mind and recharge yourself , infused  with new enthusiasm about life.

Body Mind Spirit

Because it is a body-mind-spirit problem, depression can not be addressed just with one thing , a sleeping pill, time off to rest , a favorite desert to pick me up, It is an overall issue that involves all aspects : the way you take care of yourself, your self awareness, your relationships and emotional support system, your wrong idea and expectation, your daily habits of eating, sleeping and thinking, and over all your philosophy about your own self and own life and existence, your purpose in the great picture , your own search for meaning. “
