Arrival & Departure

Arrival: Check-in time is 2:00pm. We encourage you to arrive by 4:00pm for the Asana class. Dinner is at 6:00pm and there will be a Welcoming Orientation at 7:00pm followed by Satsang at 8:00pm.

Departure: Check-out time is 12:00pm. You are welcome to stay in the ashram for the rest of the afternoon even after checking out of your room.

Yoga and Nature Awareness Retreat

Description

Deeply root yourself in nature for 5 days in the beautiful foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains, on 86 acres of rolling meadows and pristine blue oak woodlands. Experience the joy and peace of connecting with nature while learning effective techniques to relax and relieve stress.

Enjoy daily Yoga Asana and Pranayama classes, Satsang (meditation, chanting and lecture) as well as outdoor workshops and hikes. Outdoor workshops will include music, gardening, yoga, pranayama, plant walks, and/or nature connection practices (i.e forest bathing, sit spots, etc.).

The evnironmental crisis is due to ignorance and disconnection from nature. In a time with unprecedented environmental challenges such as climate change, natural disasters, pollution, deforestation etc, it is now more important than ever to reconnect with Mother Earth. We must employ nature awareness to understand her natural cycles and learn to befriend all living things if we are to bring the healing that the planet desperately needs.

Forest Bathing is fully immersing in the therapeutic benefits of nature by simply walking mindfully, trying to take in the sights, sounds, smells without judgment, clearing the mind, breathing, etc.

Sit Spots are when you sit in one spot for 20 minutes or so and just observe nature, to appreciate it and learn about it.
