Permaculture Weekend: Intro to Permaculture

with Colin Eldridge (Krishna Das)

December 14 - 16, 2018

Description

A simple description of permaculture is the development of agricultural ecosystems intended to be sustainable and self-sufficient. Permaculture uses patterns from nature to design livlihoods that are regenerative rather than destructive. Come learn more about permaculture and how to apply it to your garden, home, and daily life for more abundance, efficiency, and sustainability!

This course will cover the foundations of permaculture, including the 12 principles, 3 ethics, and some basic design applications. It will also include guided nature walks and opportunities to connect with the beautiful ecosystem at the Yoga Farm in an outdoor classroom setting. Participants will gain practical tools that they can apply in their daily lives to rekindle and strengthen their connection and understanding of nature and the divine.

The Yoga Farm is a perfect environment to learn about permaculture. The ethics of permaculture and yoga align with each other, in that they both advocate for respect of all life, non-violence, and non-theft (of the earth and from people).

“Yoga is Permaculture and Permaculture is Yoga Life. Tune to the divinity in Mother Nature and be able to follow her direction daily as a sadhana… This is the formula to attain to the state of ‘”permanent culture ” or residing and attainment in yoga and permanently being in blissful union with the divine mother.” —Swami Sitaramananda
