Elisa Urtiaga-Medina (Durga)

Elisa Urtiaga-Medina (Durga) is a 500HR RYT registered Sivananda Yoga Teacher, trauma informed advocate, and social justice activist. Currently Durga is enrolled in the 800-hour Sivananda Yoga Heath Educator Training (SYHET) program. Durga has a 250-hour certificate in Ayurveda with Yama Therapuetics, and has completed 362 hours of training in Thai Yoga Bodywork at the Triple Gem School of Thai massage. Durga has taught Yoga and art to Baltimore City youth through a city-funded program for 8 years & specialized working with under-served Immigrant and Refugee teens. She is bilingual in English and Spanish. In her practice, Durga draws upon her experience as an artist, creative educator, and community organizer to bring a creative spirit as well as a greater awareness into her teaching. She believes that transformation is always possible with patience and a commitment to a personal yoga practice. She currently resides in Saginaw Michigan, and  is working towards disentangling the affects of long term stress and trauma as a future yoga Health Educator.
