Mind & Meditation
Understanding the Mind
This section includes three lessons on the Mind and Meditation. Each lesson includes a one-hour video, accompanying article and a short essay style quiz at the end.
Lesson 1: Yoga and Desires
How do you counteract desire unfulfilled? There are many ways but there is one very direct. You translate the words into the opposite. So it will be count your blessings or you can say contentment. Sometimes people say patient. But patient does not really go to the root of it. It only negotiates it. Like you don’t get it now you will get it later.
Lesson 2: Faith and Doubt
The opposite of faith is doubt. Doubt will make us feel weak. Doubt comes when we lose faith. We become doubtful in the underlying order of the Universe or of Nature. This is because our expectations are not being met. When something happens that fails to meet our expectations, we lose faith in God, the Universal law and ourselves. But remember, our journey towards fearlessness implies renewing ourselves. Keep your mind and heart open. When temporarily losing faith, try to find out the cause of our doubt, which is always a certain aspect of our ego, and embrace again your truth in the form of faith. Company with those who have no doubt is very powerful in removing doubts.
Lesson 3: Emotional Intelligence
To work with the emotions, we need to understand their forms and manifestations and learn how to properly handle them. All emotions are forms of Love, but distorted. Because love is at the root of every emotion, we can learn to bring the emotions back from negative manifestations to positive ones. Pure love is the remedy to all emotional problems. Love is God and God is love.
As you watch the lessons, it is recommended that you sit on the floor in a cross legged position and have a notebook and a pen with you so you can take notes and reflect on the teachings.
