Join us in Hiroshima for a profound Peace Retreat on September 21–22, 2026, held in connection with the International Day of Peace. In a city that has become a universal symbol of both the suffering caused by violence and humanity’s hope for reconciliation, we will come together to cultivate peace within ourselves and extend that peace to our communities and the world. Inspired by Mahatma Gandhi and the teachings of Yoga and Vedanta, the retreat explores peace through the principles of Ahimsa (non-violence), Satya (truth), compassion, forgiveness, selflessness, and conscious action.

The retreat combines meditation, prayer, yoga, reflection, and meaningful visits to Hiroshima’s sacred places of remembrance. Participants will take part in a Peace Walk, meditation and prayer at the Atomic Bomb Dome, a visit to the Children’s Peace Monument, and the folding of 1,000 paper cranes in honor of Sadako Sasaki. The evening concludes with meditation on the Peace Flame, while the following morning includes another Peace Walk, a Sivananda asana class, and a closing Peace Circle.

More than a commemoration, this retreat is an invitation to make peace a way of life. Through meditation, compassionate listening, nonviolent communication, and Vedantic wisdom, we learn to pause before reacting, speak without harming, listen with respect, and respond with courage and compassion. Participants will leave with a personal commitment to carry the spirit of Hiroshima into daily life—cultivating peace within themselves, in their relationships, in their communities, and ultimately throughout the world.
