One of the specialties of our well-being center is Ayurvedic bodywork and Ayurvedic consultations. We have special Ayurveda retreat weekends each month devoted to Ayurvedic learning, the sister science of Yoga. Invest in your own well-being through a learning experience that allows you to tune into your body’s innate wisdom. Consider taking time to integrate Ayurveda into your ashram experience with an Ayurvedic body treatment and/or consultation. Ayurvedic Bliss Therapy
A beautifully relaxing and luxurious full body treatment that includes an herbal oil massage, followed by a soothing, steady stream of oil poured gently over the forehead to calm and purify the mind. The experience ends with a full-body herbal steam treatment, nourishing the skin and removing toxins.

Ayurvedic Bliss Nasya Sinus Treatment (Abhyanga-Nasya-Svedana)
A full body warm herbal oil massage (as per Bliss – above), followed by a facial lymphatic treatment including aromatic steam and herb-infused nose drops (Nasya). The experience ends with a full-body herbal steam treatment, nourishing the skin and removing toxins. This treatment clears impurities from the head, opens sinuses and stimulates the flow of energy in the head and neck area.

Understanding Your Patterns
In this consultation you will be made aware of your lifestyle issues and how to improve the health of your body, mind and spirit. You will understand better about your thinking and emotional patterns and how your emotional events and past experiences prevent you from enjoying the peace and love inherent in your soul quality.
You will learn how to deal with your recurrent negative emotions and will receive insight in how to improve your relationships with friends and family, how to get out of feeling lonely or isolated and ways of how to get support.
We will evaluate the areas of stress in your life and guide you to make lifestyle changes or attitude adjustments to switch from reactive, self-destructive behavior, to conscious choices.
Make a Positive Change
Lastly, we will discuss your philosophy of life and your connection to your own inner Consciousness, and what to do to improve in your sense of meaning and purpose. There will be recommendations and a Plan of Care including food and diet, exercise and specific adapted asana and routine, pranayama and relaxation, meditation and mantra, positive thinking affirmations, lifestyle and relationship recommendations, ego transcendence recommendations, study guidelines and Self-enquiry techniques.

This appointment is an individual consultation of 2 hours to assess your physical, mental, and spiritual health condition to make recommendations for specific Yoga practices to restore strength of mind, clarity of purpose, and strategies for the Yoga path. The method used is holistic aiming for spiritual, mental and physical health using methodology and protocols of our Sivananda tradition.
Swami Sivananda was a medical doctor who became a monk so that he could be the doctor of the soul showing the path to self-mastery and taking care of the body and mind to be in a fit condition for the Yoga path.
The Yoga Health Education consultation is different from Ayurveda consultations.

Swami Sitaramananda is a senior disciple of Swami Vishnudevananda, who is a direct disciple of Swami Sivananda and was nominated acharya, senior teacher, by him in 1989. She is presently acharya of US West coast Centers and Ashrams as well as Asia, especially Vietnam, China, and Japan. Swamiji has been director of the Sivananda Ashram Yoga Farm for more than 20 years and has taught many international Teachers Training Courses in California, Vietnam, China, Taiwan and India and is teaching regularly at Sivananda Yoga Retreat in Nassau Bahamas. Swami Jnaneswariananda joined the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centers in 1995 and has been director of centers and ashrams in Canada and Italy. She teaches Hatha Yoga, Meditation, Anatomy, and Vedanta at Teacher Training Courses in North America, Italy and India. Swami Jnaneswariananda took vows of Sannyas in 2001. She is currently a senior teacher at the Yoga Farm in Grass Valley. She teaches with great enthusiasm and humor. Swami Dharmananda is assistant director of the Yoga Farm for many years and is in charge of the karma yoga program. He is a faculty of the Sivananda Institute of Health (SIHY) and is one of the main teachers of Yoga Philosophy and Meditation at the Ashram. He took sannyas vows in 2013 and is keenly interested in yoga psychology and philosophy, presenting the classical teaching in a practical and accessible way to people of all faiths and backgrounds.
After 18 years of teaching and service at the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Center in Los Angeles, Swami Sivasankariananda joined staff at the Sivananda Ashram Yoga Farm in May 2014 and has served as director of the San Francisco Center since February of 2015. Swamiji completed her TTC at the Yoga Farm in 1997 and ATTC there in 2008 and has been on yatra in north and south India and Mount Kailas. She loves to teach and is particularly fond of the Bhakti Yoga practices. Swamiji took sannyas in 2017 and is a certified yoga therapist.
Dr. Jain was born in India but has been trained in medical school in USA. She is director in charge of an integrative medical clinic in Walnut Creek, CA. She has a natural interest in yoga and ayurveda and is passionate about holistic healing. Tara Durga Devi has been teaching yoga and meditation for 32 years and was co-founder and owner of The Yoga Center, an affiliated Sivananda Yoga center in Stockton, CA. She has been trained in Yoga Therapy and is a graduate of the Sivananda Yoga Teachers Training Course (TTC) and Advanced Yoga Teachers Training Course (ATTC). Tara Durga Devi is one of the rare yoga teachers trained by Swami Vishnudevananda, with whom she took TTC in 1976.
Alexandra Epple CAS, CMT is an Ayurvedic Practitioner, seasoned yoga instructor and long time bodyworker. Her approach to health is super practical and down to earth. She graduated from the California College of Ayurveda in 2011 and has spent months at a time in Thailand and India, for further education in the healing arts. She has been part of the Sivananda therapy team since 2009. She is also a faculty member at the California College of Ayurveda and mentors a 9 month Ayurveda program. Karuna Devi is a teacher of Classical Yoga for many years, to be graduated Yoga Health Educator, a student of Ayurveda, a practitioner of the four paths of yoga, and a dedicated student of Swami Sitaramananda and the teachings of Swami Sivananda and Swami Vishnudevananda. Bringing a brightness and sincerity to the teaching of Classical Yoga, Karuna Devi is dedicated to helping students create a firm foundation on which to build a successful yoga practice.
Rudra Manohara is a Yoga Farm staff member and teacher of Classical Hatha Yoga. He is professionally trained and has over 15 years experience in both the culinary arts and massage bodywork therapy, as well as a background in theatre and dance. In support of community development and personal well-being, Rudra Manohara continues to dedicate his life to the healing path of Yoga.
